IGN is reporting that SCE is “building up an agenda that will focus on PlayStation VR” at the event which takes place at the Loews Hotel in Hollywood, California from 10th – 11th May 2016.
With the virtual gaming race now in full swing we’re sure it won’t be too long until Sony reveals all about the PlayStation VR.
Speaking with BBC, Sony CEO Kaz Hirai confirmed that over 200 different developers are now working with the PlayStation VR headset on roughly 100 different titles.
NASA also beleives that, instead of a simulation, PlayStation VR will be able to provide a live feed to a robot in space, complete with “ghost hands” to indicate movement delay. Rumors suggest that Sony could release the PlayStation VR sometime before July after the launch of its competitors Oculus Rift and Samsung VR.
With an expansive array of VR-ready games and a possible $400 price point, Sony’s PlayStation VR contender could become a force to be reckoned with. However many games launch with the headset could make a difference in how many people buy it right away, but it’s likely that many PS4 owners are somewhat interested in the possibility of what PlayStation VR has to offer, and may one day pick it up.
With the Oculus Rift now priced, how much do you think PlayStation VR will cost? VR fans will know this to be the venue that Oculus VR uses for its developer conference, Oculus Connect, later on in the year.
That being said, modern virtual reality will always have its roots in gaming. It really is a separate market.
