Haslam confirms Manziel was a no-show on Sunday
“He’s his own man”, rookie defensive tackle Danny Shelton said of Manziel.

Whether you like him or not, Johnny Football or Johnny Cleveland or…Billy is a Cleveland Brown for now.
“I feel like we just needed better leadership”, he said.
Michael Freeman of the Bleacher Report said that even before Manziel’s Las Vegas vacation this past weekend, a new coach and general manager would have a hard time taking on the baggage the former Heisman Trophy victor comes with.
“I’m not personally anxious about him”, Bitonio said.
Brown, 39, graduated from Harvard Law School in 2002 and went to work for a Washington, D.C. law firm that did work with several NFL teams which provided the Boston native with his introduction to the league. I’m grateful for the effort they put forth, their willingness to take coaching and their overall dedication to the foundation we built. Instead, he was tied up in meetings that were most likely about him being cut by the Browns as his trade value is probably very low. “If I only played well in three games, I would be out of here too”. “I don’t think structure is quite as important as right people in the right place and everybody understanding their roles and working well together”, he said.
Should the latest reports be true, they add another chapter to a growing list of off-the-field indescresions made by Manziel in less than two years in the NFL. It could be his last season with the Browns.
However, the trail of trouble for Manziel started long before the bye-week trip to Texas. The carnage continued Monday with the firings of executive chief of staff Bill Kuharich and vice president of player personnel Morocco Brown.
“As with most millennials, Manziel attempted to plead his innocence via social media – snapping a pick with his dog with the caption “#SaturdayNights” and geotagging Avon, OH.
However, during the offseason, Manziel attempted to turn things around.

Asked if Manziel was at the team’s facility in Berea, Ohio on Sunday as the team had required of the quarterback, Haslam said, “It was my understanding that he was not”.
