Real better under Zidane – Roberto Carlos
Zinedine Zidane will be a “top-class manager”, former France coach Gerard Houllier predicted Wednesday, saying the football legend had taken all the right steps before becoming Real Madrid boss.

Zidane has made it clear that as well as entertaining the Santiago Bernabeu supporters, his priority is winning the two trophies that are still available to Madrid after their expulsion from the Copa del Rey. “I would prefer someone who knows the club and the culture inside”. I am responsible for the team and I want everything to go well.
‘It’s obvious that he’s good for the players.
“He’s phenomenal and we’re going to give him all the care and support he needs”. What I want to do will be clear in the coming days and hopefully against Deportivo on Saturday.
They are now four points behind first place Atletico Madrid after picking up 11 wins, four draws, and three losses so far this term.
“But with the quality in his CV, I’m sure big clubs around the world will be trying to get Rafa Benitez because he’s a wonderful manager”. It’s what happened when I was playing here and now it’s a new stage in my career, one I’m excited about.
The 43-year-old pointed out that his meeting with the players on the first day in the new job was important as well as simple, and admitted that they seemed happy after the first encounter.
He added: “The players did not understand Benitez”.
“Apparently, Mourinho did not like to come at this time of the season and Zidane was here so we will have to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks”.

Pep Guardiola has wished new Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane well but hopes his record is not “perfect” due to the fact he is a Barcelona fan.
