Russian investigators have opened a criminal probe in the case of a patient who died after he was punched in the head by a doctor.

According to Russian web site360tv.ru the shocking video was recorded in the admission room of state hospital №2 of the Russian city of Belgorod on December 29.
Yelena Kozyreva from the area investigations committee said they considered there was no malicious intention in the physician ‘s activities.
The patient entered the hospital and, in the course of a procedure, kicked a nurse, the Russian state news agency Ria Novosti reported, citing investigators. The doctor also repeatedly punches another man who tries to intervene. Some minutes later nursing staff realise that Bakhtin was lying motionless and unsuccessfully attempt to revive him.
The doctor continues to scuffle with another man accompanying the patient.
The statement said the doctor – identified as hospital surgeon Ilya Zelendinov – was suspected of causing death through negligence.

“If the victim had stayed on his feet or hit his head on a less hard surface, the consequences would not have been so critical”.
