Marco Rubio’s booties draw jabs from GOP rivals
“He’s best prepared on national security”, Gramm, who’s donated to Rubio’s campaign, said in a brief interview at the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s annual “Policy Orientation”.

In Hooksett, New Hampshire, Marco Rubio joked that the book he wrote that enabled him to finally pay off his loans is “now available in paperback”. But while Rubio has been attracting hefty crowds and a lot of buzz, he has yet to break out of a pack of five Republicans in New Hampshire who are all running well behind Trump – including Govs.
“The objective of our life is to cooperate with God’s plan”, Rubio says in the ad. “To those who much as been given, much is expected”.
“Though Rubio’s views may be conservative, his taste in footwear is anything but”, Yahoo Style Editor-in-Chief Joe Zee wrote in an email.
“We are going to bring illegal immigration under control”, he said.
Rubio’s path to the nomination is less clear. So, Rubio’s shoe notoriety might just get him to the front of the race.
He called for a balanced budget amendment and term limits for members of Congress and for federal judges. Rubio was quick to criticize the former secretary of state.
Running third in national polling averages, the Florida lawmaker is criss-crossing Iowa, New Hampshire and SC to build support, Politico reports.
A recent poll of Republican and Republican-leaning voters nationally, conducted by NBC News and Survey Monkey, found that Trump leads among white evangelical voters with 33 percent support, while 21 percent support Cruz and only 13 percent back Rubio.
“Sen. Cruz’s vote to gut intelligence programs fits with his isolationist positions and votes against defense spending”, Rubio spokesman Alex Conant said. “But at some point, he has to break through and actually win somewhere”.
But if you asked them, I’m sure they’d tell you how important it is to them that candidates run “substantive” campaigns that talk about “the issues”.
“He represents a generational shift. It doesn’t do us any good to have someone who’s 100% ideologically pure, if he can’t win”. Rubio admitted to journalists at the Des Moines Register on Wednesday that he switched from commercial fights to private jets to match the speed of his campaign.
This week, the Florida senator’s team released a flurry of attack ads against New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, just as the brash governor is threatening Rubio’s status as the GOP establishment’s preferred candidate. He framed himself as a conservative stalwart, but one able to appeal to a wide range of people.
If Rubio hopes to snag some of Texas’ 155 delegates in the GOP primary on March 1, it might be an uphill climb. The Boston Globe noted as recently as December that 10 G.O.P. candidates had spent more time in the Granite State than Rubio, who had just seven staffers in the state (“a size more in line with what struggling candidates have”), few local endorsements, and only the occasional campaign appearance, leading residents to grumble to the Globe about his reputation for arriving late to events and leaving early.

Bush said he wanted first to say some nice things about Trump, so he gave him credit for his success in business and for his ability to challenge political correctness. Rubio, as the ad claims, was at a fundraising event in Newport Beach, California and did not attend the classified briefing.
