Ghana police arrest suspect in murder of British actress and two sons

The partner of a former EastEnders actress who was murdered along with her two sons has been arrested in Ghana, reports say.

It is understood concerns about domestic violence were raised by a relative of Ms Blake to the NSPCC on December 16.

It has also been suggested that locals saw coverage of the hunt on social media and took it upon themselves to search for Simpson-Kent.

Murder squad detectives began digging behind the family’s home in Erith, Kent, on Tuesday morning, making the grisly discovery within hours.

An Interpol spokesman in Ghana said Simpson-Kent was being driven to the capital Accra from the port city of Takoradi, ITV reported.

The Government of Ghana has confirmed the arrest today, Saturday January 9, 2016, of a suspected British murderer, Arthur Simpson-Kent.

Mr Leithead said the arrest involved Ghanaian and Met Authorities along with policemen from Interpol.

Zachary, 8, and Amon, 4, were last seen with their mother December 13.

An investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) into how police handled the case was officially launched on Friday.
