Palestinian stabs soldier in West Bank, shot dead
Israeli forces claim that many of those killed were attempting to carry out attacks but this has been disputed by Palestinians and rights groups.

A Palestinian attacker stabbed an Israeli soldier Tuesday in the West Bank, lightly wounding him before troops at the scene shot and killed the assailant, the military said. He drove through a police checkpoint in Jerusalem.
Relatives of the Dawabsheh family, however, questioned why it took more than six months to bring charges and why only two people were indicted.
Allyan was shot dead while Ghanem was arrested.
In the same report, PCHR said, “Israeli forces continued to impose collective punishment measures on the Gaza Strip, which have escalated since the 2006 Palestinian parliamentary elections, in which Hamas won the majority of seats of the Palestinian Legislative Council”.
Two other potential attacks were thwarted on Monday.
At least 131 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, 90 of them said by Israel to have been attackers.
On Monday morning, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops entered Jabel Mukaber, the East Jerusalem neighborhood where the attackers’ homes were located.
Amiram Ben-Oliel, 21, has been charged with murder, and a second suspect, a youth, as an accessory to murder.
Attorneys for the suspects said the authorities did not have enough evidence to convict their clients and accused the security establishment of using brutal and unorthodox investigation methods, including torturing the suspects and holding them for days without allowing them to meet with their legal counsels.
“I doubt such confessions will stand up in court”, their lawyer Hai Haber said.
According to Israeli watchdog Military Court Watch, there were 407 Palestinian children in Israeli custody at the end of November.
