Actor-comedian Ricky Gervais will be back for the fourth time as the host of the ceremony, which is set to take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The annual event, which honors the best of the previous year’s television and film, can help bring a wider audience to productions that have perhaps flown under the radar. It also kicks off what will be a near-constant string of award presentations that will play out between now and February 28’s Academy Awards telecast.
“Because I can see the future, I’d like to apologize now for the things I said at next week’s Golden Globes”, he tweeted on January 1.
