Hasbro adding Rey to ‘Star Wars’ Monopoly

As for why Rey wasn’t included in the first place, Hasbro claims that they left her out “to avoid revealing a key plot line that she takes on Kylo Ren and joins the Rebel Alliance”.

She wrote: “She belongs in Star Wars monopoly and all the Star Wars games”. There’s really no comparison.

After noticing Hasbro had left Star Wars: The Force Awakens protagonist Rey out of its new Star Wars themed Monopoly game, eight-year-old Annie Rose made a decision to write the company a letter.

Now all of the fans who were asking #WhereIsRey have their answer: Park Place and Boardwalk, kicking her co-stars’ asses.

Photos of the Monopoly box were also posted online, showing Darth Vader and Kylo Ren as the two main figures, with the four figurines shown confirming Rey’s omission. Why is she missing from so many Force Awakens toys?

When people started to complain, Hasbro’s excuse was that to include Rey in the game would have been a spoiler. Are you glad Rey will be in future versions of this board game?

“The Force Awakens” raked in $88.3 million over New Year’s weekend, becoming the highest domestic grossing film of all time totaling $740.3 million in just 19 days.

Fans have created a hashtag reflecting the exclusion of Rey from a number of lines of Star Wars merchandise timed to be released with the latest Disney film.

It said the Jakku scavenger already featured in other Star Wars games including Hands Down, Guess Who? and Chess.

Hasbro added: “Additionally, fans will see more Rey products hitting store shelves this month, including 6in and 12in Rey action figures. It’s about representing the hero of this film”, she said.
