As was predicted, Taraji P. Henson won a Golden Globe for her work as the larger-than-life Cookie Lyon on Fox’s hit drama Empire tonight, and much like Cookie would, Henson wasn’t about to let the wrap-up sign force her off the stage.

“Who knew that playing an ex convict would take me all around the globe?” she said while accepting the honor, which she did after handing out cookies to celeb audience members.

As an homage to her character’s name Henson passed out cookies on her way to the stage. “I waited 20 years for this”.

Terrence Howard keeps his shades on while at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 10) in Beverly Hills, Calif. “You gotta give me time”.

The actress, who opted for a stunning white gown rather than the animal prints Cookie usually goes for, then finished her speech and walked off the stage like a queen.

It nearly doesn’t matter what Henson said after that (she thanked her co-stars and the show’s crew).
