Powerball frenzy sweeps U.S. as jackpot reaches nearly $1.3 billion Cdn
According to nj.com, the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, like the Powerball drawing on Saturday, will be the largest jackpot for a lottery drawing in the United States. An estimated $1.3 billion is on the line for the next drawing, with a cash value estimated at $806 million before federal and state taxes, although Texas does not have a state income tax.

The lucky numbers drawn on Saturday were 32, 16, 19, 57 and 34, while the Powerball number was 13.
The final size of the jackpot last night was $949.8 million, the largest lottery prize in history.
No one has won Powerball’s biggest prize since November 4. That’s because they expected about 75 percent of the possible number combinations would be bought in time for last night’s drawing.
Lottery officials said early Sunday the payout for the next drawing is expected to raise from $950 million to $1.3 billion.
All six numbers must be matched to win.
The $1 million ticket matched five numbers and the $2 million victor was a Power Play victor.
Powerball is played right across the USA in 44 states, Washington and two U.S. territories.
In addition, there were three tickets that were purchased with the Powerplay option multiplying their $1 million to $2 million.
After doing little investigating, about a half-hour later Walsh confirmed the ticket had been sold at the store.
With odds at almost one in 300 million, you have a better chance at getting struck by lightning and are more likely to get killed in a shark attack and more likely to achieve sainthood.
That’s thanks to an October rule change by Powerball that made it easier to win a second-tier prize, but more hard to take home a big jackpot.
The $1 million ticket was bought at Convenience on the Go, 1441 Holland Road in Suffolk.

Nationwide, more than $1 billion in Powerball tickets were sold, lottery officials said. Lottery players spent $277 million on lottery tickets on Friday alone, the executive director of the Texas Lottery told the Associated Press.
