Still, Disney faces bigger hurdles in matching its U.S success in China and other Asian countries, where the “Star Wars” franchise isn’t as well known or have as big a following as in Western countries.

The game now on the shelves only includes male characters; Finn, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker, Nine News reports.

Female character Rey will appear on the next Star Wars Monopoly board after a letter from an eight-year-old fan to Hasbro complaining that she had been left out of the recent version.

Daisy Ridley plays lead chracter Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but her action figures are no where to be seen. But she was disappointed when she learned about the new Monopoly game based on the latest movie because there are no female characters.

Goldman said the response to Annie Rose’s letter shows she struck a nerve, and people are ready for a change.

Annie’s mother, Carrie Goldman, from Evanston, Illinois, posted the letter to her Twitter account this week, asking Hasbro how they could leave Rey out of the game, using the popular hashtag #WheresRey. Hasbro responded in a tweet.

“The Star Wars: Monopoly game was released last September, months before the movie’s release, and Rey was not included to avoid revealing a key plot line that she takes on Kylo Ren and joins the Rebel Alliance”, a spokesman for Hasbro explained.

“A huge number of the messages I’m getting are from men”.

As a little consolation prize for everyone who didn’t love the movie, Abrams, who isn’t directing “Episode VIII”, reportedly said the script for the next film is so good he wishes he were making it.

Duffy said anyone who already bought a Rey-less game can contact Hasbro when the updated game comes out and request their own Rey token.
