Obama’s gun-sale orders are narrow, reasonable
Obama agreed that not all criminals could be stopped through expanded background checks, but said gun laws, like traffic laws, could reduce fatalities over time “so families are spared”.

He recently wrote an article for the New York Times on gun violence and has raised a couple of important points. No. In 18 years, we’ve not seen the big government roundup of guns begin. “The NRA has convinced many of its members that somebody’s going to come grab their guns”.
What this president doesn’t get is that criminals who shoot up a place don’t follow the laws in general.
In 2013, she made a tearful address at a debate in Chicago, where she urged for a “common-sense reforms to protect our children from gun violence”.
“Do I agree that every American should have a firearm?”
The President went on to say the reason the ATF budget shrunk during his administration is in part because the ‘Republican Congress feel as if the ATF is not their friend, but their enemy’.
President Obama will discuss stricter gun laws at the last state of the union next week. “I don’t want to be considered a dealer, I’m not a dealer so I’m getting rid of my collection so I won’t be a gun dealer or a collector!” Writing in an oped titled “Guns Are Our Shared Responsibility”, the president informs readers that “I will not campaign for, vote for or support any candidate, even in my own party, who does not support common-sense gun reform”.
Obama’s executive actions, announced Tuesday, would expand background checks through stricter gun licensing requirements and added Federal Bureau of Investigation personnel to process applications.
“Somebody else could say it’s a commonsense thing to have an armed guard add every school and another person might think that was overkill”, she said.
“Well, how could you get fewer guns without confiscation?” asked Jeff Wait, owner of the gun store where the gun enthusiasts had gathered. “I think it everybody had a firearm on them, there would be less circumstances that people would be willing to take a jeopardy as to whether they were armed or not”, Davis commented. That’s not right. That’s not what America is about.

But we also know that people who aren’t allowed to buy guns find ways – legal ways – to avoid the background check system. Supporters of the gun control measures have said the measures are necessary, but some don’t think they go far enough to prevent gun-related deaths or mass shootings.
