Chiefs move on in playoffs while Maclin remains in limbo
Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin left the Kansas City Chiefs’ wild-card game against the Houston Texans in the third quarter Saturday with a knee injury and was later ruled out.

Maclin suffered a high ankle sprain and his status for Saturday is uncertain, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Wow, great news for the Kansas City Chiefs, who originally though Maclin’s injury was more severe.
Yet playing without key players has become one of the hallmarks of this team.
To keep it going, they may have to be resourceful again. Following a 2014 campaign were Chiefs’ quarterback Alex Smith threw zero touchdowns to wide receivers, Maclin led the Chiefs passing attack all season, compiling with 1,088 yards on 87 receptions and eight touchdown catches.
The Chiefs will now await the results and hope for the best when considering Maclin has previously dealt with a torn ACL to his right knee in 2013 and 2006. I get that. It would be mighty easy to predict that Tom Brady will perform well in this coming Saturday’s game, just as it would be easy to predict that Andy Reid will all of a sudden think that there are 50 seconds in a minute (he doesn’t manage clocks very well if you hadn’t heard). “How many times did you see Hoyer be inaccurate on third down?”
Maclin finished Saturday’s game with three receptions for 29 yards.
When pass rushers Justin Houston and Tamba Hali went down, Dee Ford and Frank Zombo kept things together in their absence. “Jeremy took the couple reps that we had in practice with it, and he stepped in and did a nice job from basically watching”.
The Chiefs proved in the 2015 regular season that they’re deeper than the starting 22. “There are going to be injuries, and so guys have got to step up”.

“I know they beat the Texans pretty soundly, but a lot of that was in large part of their defense getting turnovers and Alex Smith only having one turnover himself”, said Boomer.
