ISI is behind Pathankot air base attack Former White House official
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in a telephonic contact have agreed that a cordial relationship was the most appropriate response to the terrorists. Urdu, widely spoken in Pakistan, can be mostly understood by Hindi speakers. They allegedly leaked information about the army base in Gwalior and air force stations in Bathinda and Jaisalmer in return for jobs or money, it said.

The Pathankot air base lies in the Indo-Pakistani border region, close to Kashmir. “They’ve said that themselves, and our expectation is that they’ll live up to that pledge”, he said.
“We urge all the countries in the region to work together to disrupt and dismantle terrorist networks and to bring to justice the perpetrators of this particular attack”.
Ajit Doval welcomed the Pakistani statement in which Pakistan condemned the PathanKot Air Base attack and looked forward for better ties in the future.
Elaborating on the point that terrorism is a shared challenge, Kirby said: “Pakistan too has suffered from terrorism. If Pakistan wants to improve relations with India, they should immediately hand over Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Maulana Masood Azhar to India”, it said.
“We have been clear with the highest levels of the government of Pakistan that it must continue to target all militant groups”, Kirby told media, according to the BBC.
Six terrorists have been neutralised to date within the combing operation.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team also reached the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot today to begin its investigation of the three cases lodged in connection with the ongoing terror attack. More worrisome however is the fact that Pathankot is the fifth attack in the area since September 2013, despite fencing and patrolling.
