Holy Holm isn’t willing to sit around and wait for Ronda Rousey’s return, and it doesn’t seem like she will have to. White said Rousey’s commitment to the sport remains strong and she will return to the octagon before 2016 comes to a close.
“You will see Ronda Rousey fight again”, White said, reports FOX Sports.
‘Ronda has dedicated the last three-plus years to working hard here.
The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion, who on Monday was chosen as Yahoo Sports’ MMA Personality of the Year, has appeared in the movies “The Expendables 3”, “Furious 7” and “Entourage”.
On Tuesday, White changed course and said Holm will now defend her throne against a yet-to-be determined opponent before facing Rousey. While the honor is another feather in Rousey’s marketability cap, it also represents another sign that Holm’s line of thinking may be on track.
