Obama Proposals Do Little To Slow Local, National Gun Sales Tide
When President Obama tearfully announced his executive actions on guns at the White House recently, he was able to surround himself with victims of gun violence who support his gun-control efforts.

Obama agreed that not all criminals could be stopped through expanded background checks, but said gun laws, like traffic laws, could reduce fatalities over time “so families are spared”. The provision applies to retail sales and sales at gun shows. But there are some that fall into the private individual category, which means they don’t need FFL licenses and don’t perform background checks.
Since Congress continues to fail us, President Obama recently answered our call to reduce gun violence by taking executive actions that will save lives in cities nationwide and right here in Rockland County New York. Since then, according to figures released by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the guns and ammunition industry had raked in at least $9 billion in additional sales over projected figures since Obama took office.
Thunderbird Firearms Academy owner, Ryan Pennock, who is also a member of the American Firearms Retailers Association or AFRA was there and apart of the discussion.
“All of us can agree that it makes sense to do everything we can to keep guns out of the hands of people who would do others harm, or themselves harm”, he said at the time.
“It is a false notion that I believe is circulated for either political reasons or commercial reasons in order to prevent a coming together among people of goodwill to develop common-sense rules that will make us safer while preserving the Second Amendment”, Mr Obama said.
“You know what happened”. Calling it “a constant balancing act”, Howard wants to see authorities have more access to such records of people who are struggling with mental health issues without making the situation “a police state”. His actions this week to take away the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens is just the latest, if not most egregious, violation of the separation of powers found in the United States Constitution.
Royal says, “If we go one step further than that, you’re not leaving with a weapon that day or for how long”.
The contrast between the fantasy of those who make movies and the reality of whose who support gun rights was made stark by Taya Kyle, Chris Kyle’s widow, who delivered these thoughts on gun control.
‘If we add up the number of these mass killers over the last decade, how many people are we talking about?
