David Bowie Mourned Across the World; Celebrities Pay Tribute to Legendary Artist
A recent Gaultier ready-to-wear show in Paris entitled “Rock Stars” paid homage to the man by recreating Ziggy Stardust on model Hannelore Knuts – who donned a one-legged, star encrusted net catsuit to applause from guests.

Writing on his Facebook page following the news Heroes singer David had lost his 18-month battle with cancer, he wrote: “Very sad news to wake up to on this raining morning”. “What Bowie did for me was through such incredible music, it was a launchpad for all kinds of ideas in fashion, culture, even philosophical ideas if you want to go there”.
Bowie and Stones frontman Mick Jagger teamed up in 1985 for “Dancing in the Street”, a cover of the Motown classic that was a top 10 hit in Britain and the U.S. The detectives confiscated over six ounces of cannabis and charged the entire group, including the Duke himself, with a class C felony.
Floral tributes have been laid and candles lit in David Bowie’s birthplace of Brixton, south London. And the stars look very different today. The death of David Bowie, an icon who transcended not just music and art but gender stereotypes, is gone. In the song “Lazarus” the opening lyrics he sings are “look up here, I’m in heaven / I’ve got scars that can’t be seen / I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen / Everybody knows me now”, so prophetic. “A little token of appreciation for someone that has inspired me so much over the years”, Green said. He had two children, Duncan Jones and Alexandria Zahra Jones, one with each wife. “RIP David and may gods love be with you…”
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby told the BBC on Monday that he became a fan during Bowie’s early rise to prominence.
It was then that I was introduced to David Bowie the actor, as Jareth the Goblin King, and a lot of things changed for me.
In 2014 Jon Langford and I performed in Chicago as part of the Bowie exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Didn’t like the exhibition, heard he hadn’t either.
David Cameron says Bowie’s death is “a huge loss”. “Each meeting and interview showed me just how intelligent, talented, inquiring, friendly and charismatic he was”.

For fans, listening to the song or watching the video is a surreal experience. He was a master of re-invention, who kept getting it right.
