The Kansas Lottery says a Kansas victor of Wednesday’s jackpot would have to pay at least $40 million to the state.

The $1 million prize is won when the numbers on the five white balls drawn match the numbers on your Powerball ticket, in any order.
In total, Kansas sales for the Powerball drawing were $ 6.7 million, which is about 25 times what is typical for a drawing.
However, no one won the record-setting lottery.
The lottery jackpot has now reached more than $1 billion and everyone seems to be getting in on the action. The next drawing is Wednesday night.
