Going forward, coach Brown promised to try and make the Nets kick up their tempo, to make things more “fun”, and to use more of the team’s young players in an attempt to get a more clear view of exactly what kind of players the Nets have (or don’t have) on their bench. Assistant Tony Brown will take over as Brooklyn’s interim coach.TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, FSN Southwest (San Antonio), YES (Brooklyn)ABOUT THE SPURS (32-6): San Antonio’s average margin of victory of 13.9 points is tops in the league and the team almost squandered a double-digit fourth-quarter advantage on Friday before locking down and executing.
The Nets, meanwhile, are still led by Brook Lopez, who’s one of the NBA’s better big men, but will be 31 the next time the Nets control their first-round pick.
“We have learned a great deal during the past six years and our experiences will guide us for the future”, he added.
NEW YORK (AP) – The Spurs are the NBA’s pillar of consistency and stability, an organization these Nets could only hope to resemble – on the court and in the front office. He made significant trades that brought in notable players such as Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Deron Williams and Joe Johns. He recently was approved to take over full ownership of both the Nets and Barclays Center, but there’s been speculation he could be looking to sell.
The Brooklyn Nets have moved on from Lionel Hollins amid being in danger of suffering their first double-digit home skid in almost six years Monday night, and avoiding it means beating a team they lost to by 27 in the first week of the season. The team’s owner said the rest of this season will focus on finding a coach who knows how to building a winning team and has a record to back him up. Before joining Hollins’ staff in Brooklyn, he went 318-279 as the head coach of the Suns, Sonics and Kings, including a trip to the Finals with the 1993 Suns.
Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King speaks July 18, 2013, during an NBA basketball news conference at Barlcays Center in NY. “I think it’s a great challenge for any general manager and coach”.
“(King) can send me any of his ideas as a friend”, Prokhorov said. This is a fresh start for all of us.

“I can assure you that I’m more determined and committed than ever to build a victor”. He plans to be more hands-on in his approach with the team, especially during the coach and GM search, where Prokhorov says he will sit in on all meetings. “We need to play hard and play together as long as we’re out there”.
