Michael Galeota, star of Disney Channel’s ‘The Jersey,’ dies at 31

Galeota was apparently unreachable over the weekend, so one of his friends went to his house in Glendale yesterday (January 10) to check on his status.

USA Today said the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office told a TV celebrity news channel Galeota suffered from hypertension and high cholesterol and an examination to determine the cause of death is scheduled for Tuesday. “To know him was to love him”, the note continued.

While he unfortunately joined the ranks of child stars whose careers faltered when they reached adulthood, Galeota remained a popular and well-liked figure amongst SoCal actors.

Many fans remember Michael’s appearances in the 1997 Ally McBeal pilot, and may have hoped that his character would reappear in later episodes.

The actor went to the hospital last week after complaining of abdominal pains and left Wednesday, according to TMZ, which first reported the news. His humble nature hid a great compassionate and loving human being, with a huge heart.

The star was found on the living room floor, it was claimed. In our hearts and souls, he will always be with us.

Galeota’s kith and kins have started a “GoFundMe” page to collect $25,000 for the funeral and posted a note regarding his sudden demise along with a heartfelt message on the website. “He also battled diverticulitis – inflammation of the digestive track”.

Galeota also landed the leading role in a short-lived television series that only lasted for one season from 1996-1997.
