Riley Curry has once again stolen the spotlight from dad Stephen Curry, this time at the Kids’ Choice Sports Awards held Thursday at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion.

It might be the offseason, where there aren’t any press conferences for her to take over, but that doesn’t mean that Riley Curry is going to rest on her laurels.

The toddler’s jaw dropped in amusement as her dad’s name was being called to snag the award.

The first award of the night was for Clutch Player of the Year. “[Stephen] lifted her up to move her off his lap and she stayed kind of frozen for a moment”. As far as she knows, this happens to all kids. Sure enough, he also won for Best Male Athlete and Sickest Moves, giving him a chance to bring Riley onstage and have the crowd serenade her with “Happy Birthday” – she turns three on Sunday. “She was much more shy on stage than she was in her seat”.

That wasn’t happening the third time he won, for best male athlete, when she went with him on stage.

Other winners at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards included basketball star Stephen Curry, tennis star Serena Williams, skier Lindsey Vonn, and the show’s host and American footballer Russell Wilson, who attended the event with his girlfriend, Ciara.
