The teenager has enjoyed a whirlwind 12 months for club and country having established himself as a first team regular for Spurs and made his debut for England at the tailend of 2015.

Alli has dazzled with performances for Spurs this season and marked his first global start for England with a stunning goal against France at Wembley.

And thanks to this Alli has been rewarded with a new contract which will run until 2021 and is a significant increase on his previous deal.

“Even with the contract nothing changes – I’m still going keep trying hard and working on and off the pitch and doing as well as I can”, he told the club’s official website.

The 19-year-old has gone on to make 25 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring five goals.

Thankfully, I’ve broken in and got a few games, showed people what I can do and establish myself as a Premier League player.

“It wasn’t easy – I can’t say it’s been easy – but there’s a great bunch of boys here”.

“I’m 19 and I’ve still got a lot to learn and I can’t think of a better place at the minute to do that”, he said.
