Say hello to Johnny ‘Billy’ Manziel

Pettine, along with GM Ray Farmer, was sacked by Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam after Sunday’s 28-12 loss to the Steelers.

The name’s Billy, Billy Football… actually I don’t have a surname..

Following Sunday’s game, the 50-year-old Pettine said he understood change was looming – and inevitable.

Sports Illustrated’s Peter King reported that Manziel broke team rules by not reporting to the medical staff on Sunday morning prior to the game against Pittsburgh and that “the team couldn’t find him for hours”.

The club reportedly refused to do so and Manziel ended up putting the tab on his card. USA Today’s Scott Boeck reported that Manziel was seen in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

That’s the word from some of his Cleveland Browns teammates, who said Manziel was in the meeting as owner Jimmy Haslam and new director of football operations Sashi Brown addressed the team. He said, “They can be in the stadium, but they’re not required”, and “They’re not permitted to be on the sideline”.

Johnny Manziel’s time with the Cleveland Browns has been marred with drug and alcohol rumors, run-ins with the law, and a rehab stay. The 2012 Hesiman Trophy victor started six games, and while he did show progress on the field, the 23-year continued to be a distraction off it.

“It is a bottom-line business and you guys don’t have a column in the newspaper for moral victories”, Pettine said.

“I’m not quite sure, I don’t know all the details on it I’ve really kind of haven’t been all up on it but I’ve heard a little of it”, James said of the speculation surrounding Manziel’s whereabouts.

“I only saw him for literally 30 seconds”, Bitonio said of Manziel. “I don’t think you can be as effective as you can be as a player if things aren’t right off the field and he’s a good example of that”. “I certainly didn’t and I don’t think anybody in our building did”.
