The eight-time welterweight champion Pacquiao has finally chose to hang his gloves.

World famous boxer turned politician Manny Pacquiao confirms that his upcoming fight with Timothy Bradley Jr. will be his last.

Pacquiao said he will soon open up his training in the Philippines in the first week of February before moving on to Los Angeles just weeks before his April 9 rubber match with Bradley at the MGM Grand. The 37-year-old dismissed reports saying he won’t quit before he has another bout with Floyd Mayweather, who also has retired after beating Pacquiao.

“I did not say anything like that”.

In a wide-ranging interview on Viva Sports weekly boxing show “The Main Event” on Pinoy Box Office (PBO) over Sky Cable last weekend, Ariza said “I’ve been to a lot of gyms here and I see such tremendous talent…it’s so sad that after all the money made off Pacquiao they can’t give a little back”. “I’m retiring from boxing to focus on my new job”, he announced. Arum believes that if Pacquiao turns out a good performance against Bradley (and wins), the hunger to continue fighting is a possibility.

He has won 57 fights, including 38 knockouts, lost six and had two draws in a professional career spanning more than 20 years after being raised in poverty, and now represents the southern province of Sarangani in parliament.
