The singer released his latest album, Blackstar, on his birthday on Friday.

The album, the 25th from the groundbreaking artist, proved Bowie to be cutting edge to the end as he taps a quartet to create a hard jazz sound.

“His death was no different from his life – a work of Art. He made “Blackstar” for us, his parting gift”.

“Over the last few years – with him living in NY and me in London – our connection was by email”, Eno says in a statement. “‘Screw you world!’ I bellowed, and we laughed; you bigger than me”, he continued. “The pants may change, but the actual words and subjects I’ve always chosen to write with are things to do with isolation, abandonment, fear and anxiety – all of the high points of one’s life”. “And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way”.

The 70-year-old singer also talked about the annual Bowie Ball, which is held at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge and hosted by designer Deryck Todd, admitting she expected the next event to be “sad and extremely heartfelt”. Only a handful of people even knew that Bowie was seriously ill, although he told the director of his new stage musical that he had liver cancer to explain why he would not be present at rehearsals.

As tributes continue to pour in for David Bowie from around the world, German authorities have also remembered the singer in their own unique way. In the hard-driving “Hallo Spaceboy”, off the 1995 album “Outside”, Bowie sings, “Don’t you want to be free?” Yet while “The Next Day” marked a return to classic Bowie, with tight and driving rock tunes, “Blackstar” showed an artist eager to break traditional song structure and confound expectations.

Diane Warren: “Oh my God not David Bowie”. More than nine minutes long, it, like the entire album, is marked by the imagery of dread and death.

Paul Feig: “Absolutely devastated by the death of Bowie”.

The news comes as sales of his latest album doubled overnight and six more of his classic albums re-entered the album charts Top 40.

In addition to his musical career, Bowie was an actor, appearing in films including The Man Who Fell to Earth and Labyrinth.

Bowie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, but he didn’t attend the ceremony.

His voice dueling maze-like with the saxophone, Bowie returns to his fascination with the avant-garde of previous eras. “He presaged the punk rock movement, laid the groundwork for modern rock”. She wrote, “I was not quite [17], America was very new to me, and I was distinctly uneasy and distrustful toward everything happening in my life that was putting me in these flat-voiced, narrow-eyed, champagneish rooms”. “I realized everything I’d ever done, or would do from then on, would be done like maybe he was watching”.
