Liverpool can’t outpass Arsenal – Klopp

Wenger hopes to add Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny to his squad this week.

“I must say I am very happy for Benik because he had an outstanding attitude here and I am very pleased he has done well. For Alexis the Liverpool game will come too soon for him but he has a chance to be available for Stoke and his development is going well”.

“He is always keen to play”.

Serbian teenager Marko Grujic became Jurgen Klopp’s first Liverpool signing last week – but the deal was nearly scuppered because of one of the youngster’s phobias.

Caulker has been relegated from the Premier League twice in his career, with Cardiff and QPR, and has been on loan at Southampton for the first half of this season.

When asked if he expected some of Liverpool’s biggest names to return, Wenger replied: “Yes, don’t worry, Arsene is a very good doctor – they always heal when they play against us!”

“We will find a current plan for this game”.

“In every club now, when I look at the bench, I am quite impressed with the players who are there and can play, so I don’t believe that it’s like we have 13 players who have to play every single game”.

“It s a good challenge, not easy, but really interesting. It’s a moment when we have to make decisions”, Klopp said.

“If you at least fix and keep the Premier League games and don’t change them, and adapt the FA Cup to the dates in midweek, that would be a step forward”.

But should the German manager recruit extensively this month, one player that could be on his way out of Merseyside before Monday, February 1 is left-back Jose Enrique.

The former Borussia Dortmund chief says the biggest difference between managing in England rather than Germany is the number of games. While Divock Origi, Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel, Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, Jordan Rossiter and Jon Flanagan are all definitely out.

“The situation is better than it was two or three days ago because I think Kolo will be available, so we will have a senior centre-back”, he told reporters yesterday.
