Israeli pair indicted in fire that killed 3

Several others also were indicted in a February arson attack on the Dormition Abbey in Jerusalem, the burning of a Palestinian taxi, as well as the slashing of tires of cars belonging to Palestinian residents in East Jerusalem. The home of Allyan was demolished and the home of Abu Jamal was sealed off with concrete.

“It’s clear the Israeli institutions are not serious”, he said.

Palestine joined the ICC in April and already handed over two files documenting alleged Israeli crimes during 2014 Israeli Operation Protective Edge as well as Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. His mother, Riham, and father, Saad, later died of their wounds. Rights groups say the demolitions are collective punishment.

The controversial practice is widely used in the West Bank and resumed in east Jerusalem in November after a five-year hiatus.

In early 2005, a Defense Ministry committee concluded that the measure is not effective in its aim to deter militants from committing attacks, and Israel ceased to use it.

According to the United Nations, 19 homes of families and neighbours of Palestinian attackers were destroyed by Israel past year. On the night of the attack, however, the minor involved allegedly did not show up and Ben-Uliel went alone to the village, lobbing two Molotov cocktails at the Dawabsheh home and another residence.

Abu Asab added that the Jerusalem central court had also ordered each of the boys’ families to pay a bail of 5,000 shekels and sign a bail of 10,000 shekels.
