Marrone becomes 3rd ex-head coach to interview with Dolphins
Offensive coordinator Adam Gase has left the Bears after one season to become head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

Feel like the Dolphins are so close with an improved defense but a struggling Ryan Tannehill paired with a whole new coach and a whole new offensive system might be too much.
A team source told the Miami Herald that while a deal was not yet finalized, the two sides are making progress.
The Dolphins hope Gase can help Ryan Tannehill take his game to the next level, and jumpstarting Miami’s anemic offense, which finished 26th yards per game, and 27th in points per game in 2015. “In the end, I was convinced and the search committee was unanimous was the right leader for our football team who best met all of our priorities”. He also interviewed for head coaching jobs with the Eagles on Tuesday, the Browns on Wednesday and the Giants on Friday.
The Dolphins have named former Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase as Miami’s next head coach.
Denver Broncos head coach John Fox, offensive coordinator Mike McCoy: Gase was wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach, and offensive coordinator. Tannehill was given a $96 million extension a year ago but has been inconsistent with a 29-35 record as a starter. During those six years, the Broncos compiled a 58-38 (.604) regular-season record, won four AFC West titles, three playoff games and an AFC Championship, including a trip to Super Bowl XLVIII. “The last three years, being a coordinator both for the Denver Broncos and with the Chicago Bears, it’s an accelerated growth”.
Quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains would be a logical Bears’ in-house candidate for offensive coordinator. Gase was instrumental in probably saving Jay Cutler’s career this season in Chicago, calling the plays that helped Cutler complete 64 percent of his passes for 3.659 yards and 21 touchdowns with just 11 picks. “He is ready for this for sure”. Gase marks the Dolphins ninth coach since 2004, according to The Sun-Sentinel.
And Gase, 37, has made the rounds on the interview circuit over the past two years. I think he’s going to do a good job.

“I’m very happy for Adam”, Manning said. He followed Saban to LSU and was a graduate assistant and recruiting assistant before beginning his National Football League career in 2003. The Dolphins haven’t been to the playoffs since 2008, when they had their most recent winning season.
