Chiefs vs. Patriots: Point Spread & Over-Under

Facing their own playoff drought, the Kansas City Chiefs had little trouble ending a 22-year run without a postseason win by thumping the Houston Texans 30-0.

The sting of that defeat may have subsided, but the tape is still intact and just because the Patriots didn’t play well that Monday Night Football game, doesn’t mean they won’t be dissecting it heading into Saturday’s AFC divisional round match against the Chiefs.

The KC Chiefs dismantled the Houston Texans this weekend in spite of a slow going offense.

It would not take long for the Chiefs to get on the board. That’s kind of the mark of a good team.

They were especially cognizant of not letting up after blowing a 28-point lead in a loss to the Colts in their last playoff appearance in 2013.

The Chiefs have won 11 in a row, but to win a 12th straight game, they’ll have to beat the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. Everyone thinks they have something extra for Watt, and his 17.5 sacks this year shows it just doesn’t work.

After a bad start the Chiefs have won 11 games in a row while the Patriots started great and limped to the finish due to a rash of injuries and poor offensive line play.

Meanwhile, the chances of seeing Denver knocked off and removing any chance for the Patriots to have to travel if they advance to the AFC Championship took a blow as well when Ben Roethlisberger got his right shoulder squashed by Vontaze Burfict during the Steelers win.

Chris Boswell kicked a field goal in the final 15 seconds, which came after Jeremy Hill’s untimely fumble, to seal a first play-off win since 2010.

“It was bad to not be out there with my teammates”, Watt said after the game.

“Well, we’€™ll definitely look at that game”, Belichick said on a conference call Sunday. “I try to put a lot of pressure on everybody to get the best out of us”.

Brady and the offense would certainly benefit from the return of a healthy Julian Edelman. “I owe it to those guys in that locker room and these coaches to do everything I can to be a better player the next time I step on the field”. “No one knows at this point”. We’re still plenty of days away.

If this continues for another few years, it will be time to consider him for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, whether he eventually does get that ring or not.

“The actual loss of the game, I could care less about, but I think it’s always good to go back and see when a team has success against you”, safety Devin McCourty said.
