Steelers hope Roethlisberger, Brown can play against Broncos

“Ben has a chance”, said Coach Mike Tomlin.

At his Monday press conference, Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis said Burfict’s hit “didn’t go over the edge”. Brown seemed to notice Jones’ mistake in saying he deserved a Grammy – a musical award – for an apparent acting job. “I wouldn’t have just walked away”. I know he is excited about that and getting an opportunity to physically prepare, and hopefully getting an opportunity from his perspective to rebound. Williams has been very good in relief of him, putting up 11 touchdowns and 907 yards on the year, helping to balance out the Steelers’ offense so that Brown and Big Ben don’t have to do everything on their own. “You got (Steelers linebacker coach) Joey Porter in the middle of the (expletive) field talking (expletive) to everybody and then when somebody says something to him… he isn’t even supposed to be on the (expletive) field”. It’s a sentiment shared by teammates Andrew Whitworth and George Iloka.

“Not that it’s an excuse for us, we have to keep our composure as a team”. “If we didn’t want them to be there, that means I’d want A.B.to be messed up”. We’re always talking about those things.

“There’s too many questions between Roethlisberger and Brown”, Bogdanovich said. And that’s the first step, to realize you know what? Penalties here or there, one play here or there is the difference in playing another week and not playing at all this time of year.

Ben Roethlisberger isn’t yet sure of his status for this weekend.

The two penalties moved the Steelers from the Bengals’ 47-yard line to the 17.

Notes: Lewis said QB Andy Dalton’s broken right thumb is expected to heal fully and he should be able to do all of his usual offseason workouts….

Spitting on opposing players has occurred before in the National Football League; in 1997, Broncos linebacker Bill Romanowski spit in the face of 49ers wide receiver J.J. Stokes after a pileup in which Stokes said Romanowski pulled on Stokes’ groin.
