Ciara’s national anthem performance gets backlash because of her low-cut dress

Haters gonna hate! Ciara’s plunging dress from her performance of the national anthem at the College Football Playoff Championship on Monday, January 11, made jaws drop – and not necessarily in a good way. As if her version of the song at the MLB All-Star Game didn’t make it crystal clear, she can really sing (duh).

Many, however, did not share her sentiments, implying Bernstein was a hypocrite.

Many viewers took to Twitter.com to label her outfit inappropriate in the family-friendly setting, including ESPN reporter Bonnie Bernstein who tweeted, “Dear Ciara”. The That’s My Boy (2012) thespian has dance moves like no other, a vocal Grammy to her name and knows a thing or two about body parties. “Kids are watching. Cover up”, she tweeted. More than 500 people liked the tweet, while hundreds more replied (passionately agreeing and disagreeing).

I’ve never seen this much cheerleader…

However, Ciara’s boyfriend, Russell Wilson, disagreed. Shortly after Bernstein got the Internet fired up, Wilson chimed in and complimented Ciara on her getup and rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner”. “I hope you were on wardrobe patrol then too”.
