With Democratic race narrowing, Clinton rips into Sanders
Iowa Democrats are displaying far less passion for Hillary Clinton than for Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont three weeks before the presidential caucuses, creating anxiety inside the Clinton campaign as she scrambles to energize supporters and to court wavering voters.

Hillary Clinton is sharpening her attacks on Bernie Sanders – and even her criticism of the Obama administration – as polls show her losing ground to her closest primary rival in key states.
The poll, conducted by Quinnipiac University and released Tuesday, says that 49 percent of likely Democratic caucus-goers threw their support to Sanders, while 44 percent were for Clinton.
However, as per realclearpolitics.Com – which aggregates all the recent major polls – Sanders lead in New Hampshire is 4.3 points.
That represented a turnaround for Sanders in Iowa, as the same pollster found 51% for Clinton and 40% for Sanders there last month.
He said in the last couple of presidential elections, Democrats were able to run against the Republican of their choice, leading to two victories for President Barack Obama.
“Secretary Clinton and her campaign is in serious trouble”, Sanders told reporters Monday after a campaign stop in Pleasantville, Iowa.
Gross will speak at Clinton’s first event of the day in Ames, Iowa, according to Clinton aides. Voters under the age of 45 favour Mr Sanders over Ms Clinton by roughly a roughly 2-to-1 ratio, the newspaper reported.
The economy and health care were the top two issues among Iowans polled.
Clinton’s latest campaign ad paints her as the candidate best suited to defeat Republicans in the fall, needling Sanders for his perceived lack of electability in a general election, a lingering area of vulnerability for the Vermont senator.
The former Secretary of State’s national lead has narrowed from 20 points in the same poll in early December.
Clinton also touted her foreign policy credentials, drawing another, more implicit, contrast with Sanders, who has made tackling economic inequality the focus of his campaign. “Bernie Sanders” “Field of Dreams, ‘” Brown said. He leads Clinton by double digits in polls out of the New Hampshire primary, which takes place after the Iowa Caucus.
A divide among Iowa voters highlights a growing gender gap between the candidates: Men back Sanders 61% to Clinton’s 30%, while women back Clinton 55% to Sander’s 39%.

Sanders said he was proud of the work his team is doing in both Iowa and New Hampshire.
