Bowie replied: “Less and less as Bowie, Bowie, Boo-ey, I don’t even know how to pronounce it any more, I’ve lost track”.

For this part of the his set, which took place in Mountain View, California, Bowie is joined by Reeves Gabrels on guitar and Gail Ann Dorsey on bass; and let’s not forget the bottle cap taped to the bottom of Bowie’s shoe.
Speaking to the ABC, Australian music critic Molly Meldrum has recalled interviewing Bowie at the start of the singer’s career.
Jimmy finished by telling his audience to get Blackstar and to “play it loudly and just thank him”.
Singer Pharrell Williams: “David Bowie was a true innovator, a true creative”. Other notable Bowie songs included “Blue Jean”, “Golden Years” and “Heroes”, which he performed at a concert for rescue workers after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Very intelligent – far more than I could ever be. Instead, he said: “So I’m just going to email you, David Bowie, and if you can check your email in space, or heaven, or wherever you are, you don’t have to email me back”.
Bowie died just days after releasing his new album, Blackstar, which won early critical acclaim that’s unlikely now to be modified. “What I’m most proud of is that I can’t help but notice that I’ve affected the vocabulary of pop music”, he said in the 2002 interview.
Fans on Spotify, which recently announced a partnership with lyrics site Genius, have made a bevy of David Bowie-themed playlists. “I mean it’s…you don’t often actually get an artist that really engenders that with so many people, across so many generations”. It’s risky to assign interpretations to works by artists as complex and intelligent as Bowie, but a listen to the jazz-inflected album, which topped the iTunes charts Monday, reveals a man who appears to be grappling with his own mortality. “He has a brand new album called Blackstar”, Fallon said, holding up a copy of the album cover.
She said at the time: “We went [to London] this summer”. “I don’t enjoy performing terribly much. I pray for his family and friends”.

Bowie was married twice, to actress and model Mary Angela “Angie” Barnett from 1970-80, and to supermodel Iman since 1992.
