It’s risky to assign interpretations to works by artists as complex and intelligent as Bowie, but a listen to the jazz-inflected album, which topped the iTunes charts Monday, reveals a man who appears to be grappling with his own mortality. “He has a brand new album called Blackstar”, Fallon said, holding up a copy of the album cover.
She said at the time: “We went [to London] this summer”. “I don’t enjoy performing terribly much. I pray for his family and friends”.
