Crimson Tide returns to Alabama fresh from championship win

The Alabama Crimson Tide football team returned to sweet home Alabama on Tuesday afternoon after winning their sweet 16th national championship last night. From the looks of photos on Monday night, he may not be gone from the Alabama fold for a full week.

Airport spokeswoman Toni Herrera-Bast says a bus will pick the team up planeside and officials are expecting fans to line a nearby fence. Saban’s Alabama teams have racked up four in the last seven years.

There’s been a steady stream of exhausted but happy Bama fans arriving at the Birmingham airport since around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Alabama defeated Clemson on Monday night for the College Football Playoff championship.

Bama fans gathered to greet the Crimson Tide and cheer them on once they landed in Birmingham.

A crowd cheered, chanted and waved pompoms as the buses arrived and the players got off at the Mal Moore Athletic Facility.
