Alex Galchenyuk reportedly received a tongue-lashing from Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin after the former first-rounder’s girlfriend was arrested around 8 a.m. Sunday morning for allegedly instigating a fight.

Teammate Devante Smith-Pelley was also in attendance at the party.

The girlfriend of a prominent Montreal Canadiens player has been arrested at a house party after the two got into an alleged domestic violence incident at the weekend.

Leszczynski eventually showed up to the party and for unknown reasons, there was a violent incident with Galchenyuk.

Officers from the Police Service of the City of Montreal (SPVM) were dispatched to the scene. Leszczynski was arrested after police determined she was the instigator of the dispute, according to the report. Domestic violence is a very serious accusation and should not be taken lightly.

Procedure requires the police to forward the case to prosecutors for review, the statement said.
