She will reportedly be required to wear an electronic ankle monitor, pay a monthly $60 supervision fee, and report to authorities on a weekly basis.

According to an arrest warrant, Tonya Couch is accused of taking $30,000 and telling Fred Couch that he would never see her or Ethan again before fleeing.

Authorities in Tarrant County reduced her bond earlier this week. Her lawyers had argued that the original amount was excessively high. “I just don’t believe from everything I’ve heard today it should be a million dollars”.

He continued to fight extradition from Mexico to the U.S. Tuesday. She was recently released on $75,000 bail. That, despite the still unaccounted for $30,000 she withdrew from the bank before heading to Puerto Vallarta, she has no access to cash. Tonya Couch will stay with McWilliams.

Tonya Couch, 48, is charged with helping her son Ethan flee to Mexico, likely in violation of a probation deal that allowed him to avoid prison for the crash that killed four people. The 18-year-old allegedly skipped a probation appointment and fled the country in December.

Ethan Couch was intoxicated and speeding near Fort Worth when he rammed into a disabled vehicle.

The nation has watched with anger and disdain as Couch continues to show blatant disregard for the law. Ethan was sentenced to probation. The condition is not recognized as a medical diagnosis by the American Psychiatric Association, and its invocation drew widespread ridicule. The teen’s hair was dyed jet black, as opposed to his normal blonde look.

The mental examination will determine whether there is clinical evidence to support the argument that Tonya Couch may be incompetent to stand trial.
