Writing the blog for Google, Wunderland founders, Frederik and Gerrit Braun, said the Street View collaboration was another way to keep their childhood dreams alive.
Google unveiled its first ever “mini” Street View today of “Miniatur Wunderland”, in Hamburg, Germany – the world’s largest miniature model railway exhibition.
So, Google partnered with mapping company Ubilabs to “build an entirely new-and much smaller – device” up for the task, according to Street View Program Manager Sven Tresp.
With over 13,000 kilometers of track, there was really only one way to capture every inch of it. With tiny Google Street View cars.

The Street View of Wunderland begins in its oldest section, Knuffingen, before headed to its rustic farmer’s market and even the city’s airport. The two worked together to make tiny cameras that were mounted to the trains and to some tiny road vehicles. And with over 8,000 miles of track and more than 200,000 plastic denizens, Miniatur Wunderland has plenty for them to explore. You can also visit the mountain villages of Switzerland and take in the beauty of the snowy Austrian countryside before hopping over to the US to visit the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.
