Trump Hammers Away at Cruz Citizenship, U.S. Senate Leader Mum

Trump has tried to take down the Canadian-born Cruz in recent days by casting doubt on his citizenship, prompting Cruz to produce his mother’s U.S. birth certificate.

University of Texas at San Antonio political science professor Walt Wilson says being a natural born citizen is stipulated in the USA constitution as being one of the requirements for being the President of the United States and that’s why there is so much focus on this issue. But the matter has not been tested in courts. Ted Cruz has had plenty to say about immigration and immigrants becoming US citizens during his presidential bid.

Donald Trump ejected a man from a rally after he called the Republican presidential front-runner “boring”, an incident that comes close on the heels of a Muslim woman’s removal from his campaign event for protesting silently. “Today nearly every Republican candidate is attacking me”.

But on Sunday news shows on Fox and NBC, he suggested he’d give China a chance to change.

If that’s the case, Cruz being born to an American mother would make him a USA citizen.

Another Republican candidate, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” it was unclear if Cruz qualified as a natural born citizen and that Democrats will likely challenge that. “I don’t need his endorsement; I certainly wouldn’t want his endorsement”, Trump said to Bloomberg News at the time.

As for what Ted Cruz has to say about this, he preferred a more diplomatic approach, refusing to engage with Donald Trumps and his attacks.

Trump was adamant, meanwhile, that his frequent remarks about Cruz’s eligibility were not an attempt to disqualify his rival from the presidential race over a technicality.

Meet the Press host Chuck Todd pressed Trump: “But do you have a question mark?”

“I urge you to vote for Donald Trump because he is the one candidate who points out that we should accept immigrants who are good for America”, Taylor said.

The victor will face the Democrats’ nominee in the November general election.

A protester briefly trolled everyone at a Ted Cruz rally in New Hampshire Tuesday, as seen in this video from WMUR in New Hampshire. “Whether we like it, don’t like it, he lived there, he was there, he was born in Canada, I guess his parents voted in Canada, a lot of things, I mean a lot of things happened….”

Monday morning, Investor’s Business Daily released a new national poll that showed Trump’s lead growing and field under him shuffling.
