Metal Gear Online PC beta coming today

Despite microtransactions and a number of other flaws, “Metal Gear Online” has proven to be a success for Konami, and is considered a nice bonus for those that purchased “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain”.

The beta is being made available on Steam, where you’ll see it sat in the Library after opting in. Once they relaunch the game, it will open in the beta version.

Original Story: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain may be out already – and the subject of rave reviews, like ours – but it’s not the only stealth-based experience Konami has in store. Cloak and Dagger, Comm Control and Bounty Hunter will all be playable in the soft launch lead-up to the actual release of Metal Gear Online, to be announced at a later date.

One of the first lines that the announcement from the developers read “a strong man doesn’t need to read the future”. The PC gaming community is big on modding; people have created entire worlds in games by means of it. Time will tell what the PC community does with MGO.

The beta will begin at 10PM PT on January 12, at which point those that want to take part will be able to download the beta release through Steam.

Sure, Metal Gear Online may not be seeing the full release on PC tomorrow as many had perhaps hoped for, but it’s something. ‘What little time we have left we will spend playing MGO. The console versions also suffered a delay, but not almost as long as the delay for PC gamers.
