Netflix CEO Reed Hastings commits $100 million to education fund
It looks like Netflix CEO Reed Hastings is OK with that, saying during the Netflix conference call at CES 2016 last week that it was a “positive thing” that families were sharing their Netflix account information, according to CNET.

The fund’s chief executive is Neerav Kingsland, a charter-school proponent who previously led New Schools for New Orleans.
You can find out more details about this new fund for education for the Netflix CEO over at Facebook at the link below. Zuckerberg, for instance, was criticized for creating his foundation as a means of avoiding taxes, an accusation he denied.
Hastings, the sole trustee of the fund, says he wants to partner with communities to significantly increase the number of students of color who have access to rich and holistic educational experiences.
Hastings has a longstanding interest in education reform. Hastings served on the California State Board of Education and is a board member of several educational organizations.
The funds will be donated under Kingsland’s lead and will go toward kids’ education in various ways.

Dubbed, “The Hastings Fund”, it’s already awarded the first two gifts totaling $1.5-million to the United Negro College Fund and the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. Kingsland said that there are so many students in the nations who are unable to study in incredible schools.
