Ted Cruz bags the endorsement of ‘Duck Dynasty’ patriarch

The leader of the “Duck Dynasty” clan officially announced his 2016 endorsement of Cruz in the campaign spot released Wednesday. Members of the Republican Party are scheduled to speak at the 2014 Republican Leadership Conference, which hosts 1,500 delegates from across the country through May 31st.

Phil Robertson, the patriarch of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” reality TV show, has endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz in the only way he could.

Here is the latest campaign commercial on behalf of Ted Cruz, who would like to be president of the United States.

“I was anti when anti wasn’t even cool”, Robertson said about so-called anit-establishment candidates.

“Ted Cruz is my man”, he added, in the video which shows Cruz, dressed in hunting gear, duck hunting with Robertson.

Robertson gained notoriety in 2013 when he made offensive comments about gay and black people in an interview with GQ. Robertson says in the video. Phil’s story of starting off with something small and working hard to achieve the American dream is inspiring – much like my parents, and many other Americans, who started a small business and worked hard to provide for our family. That’s right. You’re thinking exactly what I am.

The suspension seemed to only rally conservative Christian support for Robertson, with politicians like former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin speaking out on Robertson’s behalf.

The endorsement is by no means Robertson’s first foray into political matters. Cruz, who is running neck-and-neck with front runner Donald Trump in Iowa, said he is “thrillled”.
