Derrick Henry takes off for 50-yard touchdown vs Clemson

Heisman Trophy victor Derrick Henry of the Crimson Tide has two touchdowns after rushing for 50 yards for the game’s first score in the first period and powering for another in the second quarter. Even though the Tigers lost to Alabama, Watson still showed himself to be a superstar, with 400 yards passing and four touchdowns to go with 73 rushing yards in the title game.

When it seemed as if the life was sucked out of Clemson, Watson and Wayne Gallman manufactured an eight-play, 75-yard touchdown drive in less than three minutes that ended with a 15-yard pass from Watson to Artavis Scott.

For college football fans, DeShaun Watson and Derrick Henry could be forever linked. It’s also worth questioning whether compiling more than 1,000 yards on kick returns with only one touchdown in 36 tries merits placing McCaffrey over his competitors in the Heisman hierarchy.

Both Clemson and Alabama traded punts to begin the game, but Henry broke things open in a big way when he extended his SEC record with his 26th touchdown of the year. Smart will appear in only seven more National Hockey League games, however, collecting only two more National Hockey League goals. After the Crimson Tide scored 24 points in the fourth quarter alone, the final score by Clemson made it a bitter ending for bettors that laid the 6.5 points on Bama. Cardale Jones during the College Football Playoff last season in Alabama’s loss to Ohio State is a prime example. Defensively, Alabama football yields 177.2 yards in passing and 124.4 yards in rushing, and allows 20.4 points per game. But when it came to the ground-and-pound attack that has characterized coach Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide dynasty, the heavy lifting once again fell to star tailback Derrick Henry. The Tide won a historic shootout 45-40 over Clemson Monday night.
