At the Fox party, the cast of Empire celebrated, Innaritu posed for photos, Leonardo DiCaprio chatted with Tobey Maguire, Lady Gaga who won a Golden Globe for American Horror Story: Hotel made a sweeping entrance and left after ten minutes.
Other highlights include Aziz Ansari seemingly reading a book Losing to Jeffrey Tambor with Dignity during the announcement of nominees for best actor-comedy. It is important to note though this year’s victor “Mozart In The Jungle” and “Transparent” are two entirely different shows and it will be interesting to see if that success can be duplicated.
Oscar Isaac was awarded Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his performance in Show Me a Hero. The social media app didn’t track last year’s Globes, but for comparison’s sake, 2015’s Oscar telecast pulled in 9 million app users for a total of 25 million social interactions.
Without a runaway favourite for this year’s top Academy Award, a handful of key contenders will be looking to the Globes for a little traction on the road to the Oscars.

After a 10-year ratings high three years ago, the Golden Globes’ viewership has dipped slightly since, with an audience of 19.3 million tuning in last year.
