Trump And Supporters Hit Back At Nikki Haley’s Jabs

“Well, considering I’m leading in the polls by a lot, I wouldn’t say she’s off to a good start based on what she has just said”, Trump said. “Trump should deport Nikki Haley” tweeted conservative commentator Ann Coulter, responding to Gov. Haley’s comments about protecting legal immigration. Haley took a swipe at Trump, saying anxious times can tempt people to heed the siren call of the angriest voices.

“We need to recognize our contributions to the erosion of the public trust in America’s leadership”, she said of Republicans.

In her response Tuesday, Haley called for a stop to “stopping illegal immigration”, but also “welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of their race or religion”.

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley awaits a speech by US President Barack Obama during the National Governors Association meeting in the State Dining Room of the White House in Washington, DC, in this February 27, 2012. Ryan wrote in a statement, “Governor Haley drew a remarkable contrast with the president tonight”. One person who seemed to like Haley’s speech is presidential hopeful Jeb Bush. Asked if he would consider Haley, touted by many as a vice presidential pick who could potentially broaden the appeal of the GOP ticket next fall, as his running mate, Trump was cool.

Talk radio host and Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham tweeted that Haley missed a golden opportunity to stand with working Americans on the subject of immigration.

Haley also made reference to her own upbringing as the daughter of two Indian immigrants, while relating to the struggle that many foreigners face when they settle in the U.S. She also elaborated that she’s against the establishment and a political elite for both parties, and that a career politician from either side will not be able to resolve the nation’s issues. “It’s certainly that, but her speech last night sort of expanded the theme of who is and who isn’t qualified to be a Republican, and the Republican Party is still anti-conservative”, Limbaugh said.

Lance Iversen/AP Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump remains a front-runner despite facing criticism from Democrats and Republicans. “When I say it about my other friends that are running for president, they don’t throw stones”.
