“CBS This Morning” host Charlie Rose revealed that he has secured the first TV interview with Sean Penn following the publication of the latter’s interview with Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who had been recaptured by Mexican authorities.

Guzman is now being held in isolation in a different part of the facility, Mexico government spokesman Eduardo Sanchez told Reuters.
While Penn does not give the specific location of the interview, he said it was conducted in a mountainous Mexican jungle.
In October, the same month Penn interviewed him, authorities said they nearly caught Guzman but he slipped away. The photographs bolster the idea that authorities were tracking Penn’s movements in a bid to find the elusive Guzman.
Despite some backlash, Oscar victor Penn reiterated on Monday, January 11, that he did no wrong in conducting the interview.
Unless Penn aided and abetted Guzman in some way, the Oscar-winning actor would not have a duty to disclose to authorities that he was talking to a fugitive, legal experts said.

In the interview with Penn published by Rolling Stone, Guzman said he felt neither remorse nor responsibility for smuggling billions of dollars worth of drugs into the United States.
