It has been reported that Bowie was cremated shortly after his death.

In the Daily Mail, Boy George recounted being almost 12-years-old and seeing Bowie performing as Ziggy Stardust.

Bowie performed as a mime in the Lindsay Kemp company early in his career. If you go back to the start, Bowie always used the visual medium as well as the audio, helping to create a whole new medium.
