People’s Choice Awards 2016: Who Are The Winners?

One surprise of the night came in the form of a man crashing the stage in Kanye West fashion when ladies of “The Talk” were accepting their award for favorite daytime TV hosting team. As the guy began promoting rapper Kevin Gates, he was sent off before he could say much. The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood took the control of the situation by calling in security and tried grabbing the mic from the guy as he was getting kicked off the stage, literally, by fellow co-host Sharon Osborne.

HOLLYWOOD-The awards season has officially kicked off, the first of 2016 being the People Choice Awards which were held on Wednesday, January 6.

“Finding Dory” actress and host Ellen DeGeneres also received the Humanitarian Award. While onstage, she made laugh-out-loud comments like “Would I call myself the Mother Theresa of talk shows, the Dalai Lama of daytime?” Like I said, it’s not the Oscars. Vin Diesel got emotional while accepting awards for favorite movie and favorite action movie, talking about his “Furious 7” co-star, the late Paul Walker.

Some of the other winners for this year included Pitch Perfect 2 for Favorite Comedic Movie, as well as The Martian for Favorite Dramatic Movie and Taken 3 for Favorite Thriller.

We’ll see how ratings for this year’s People’s Choice Awards end up, but last year’s Teen Choice Awards, when those digital categories were part of the ceremony, did fine – the ratings were about the same as in 2014 and the show was the best of the night in ratings for teenagers. He accepted the trophy with jokes about his movie: “You know, the only thing that upset me was that my dance sequences were cut out completely”, he said to an audience that encouraged him to show off his moves live.
