Drake, Kevin Hart to coach NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

Drake, who serves as “Global Ambassador” for his hometown Toronto Raptors and Hart will serve as coaches of Team Canada and Team USA, respectively, for this year’s Celebrity Game, which will take place Friday night of All-Star Weekend and will air on ESPN. This year in Toronto, it will be a little different: the two teams will represent the United States of America and Canada.

Meanwhile, Hart, a four-time All-Star MVP, will be leading Team USA and a handful of famous faces, including Creed’s Michael Bae Jordan, Black-ish’s Anthony Anderson, Nick Cannon and Empire’s Bryshere “Yazz” Gray.

Drake will be joined on the sidelines by two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash and Toronto Blue Jays All-Star right fielder José Bautista.

Suiting up for Drake’s team: Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, Drew and Jonathan Scott (HGTV’s Property Brothers), Stephan James, tennis pro Milos Raonic, actor and singer Kris Wu, former National Basketball Association players Tracy McGrady and Rick Fox, and Natalie Achonwa of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever.

This could be tough, though, as comedian Kevin Hart has a pretty hot team of his own. Bogues and Billups are former Raptors, too, but they’re playing for Team USA.

Now we’ll find out if any of Casey’s coaching acumen has rubbed off on the Grammy Award-winning rapper.

The game will beam into your living room on February 12 at 7:00 PM EST on ESPN.

The NBA All-Star Game will be held north of the border for the first time this season, and the change in host nation has brought about a tweak in the format of the annual All-Star Celebrity Game.
