Aston Villa’s Remi Garde says the problems at the club have been accumulating for many years. Villa are struggling in the Premier League bottom of the table and looking like a team destined for relegation.

Garde has asked the board to make a statement after facing numerous questions he has been unable to answer and Lerner is expected to break his silence on Monday.

The club’s powerbrokers are in NY spelling out a damning “rip it up and start again” verdict from Garde on the team he inherited. It was claimed on a Villa fan website that the captain intervened to calm the situation after two senior players told their own supporters to “fuck off”. “It’s very hard to have brought players here for at least three or four years and pay them to leave”. “We were upset to have conceded an equaliser and then everybody made individual runs without caring about the team balance”.
